Mel B: ‘I’ve been in and out of the studio this year’

Mel B has revealed that she is working on new music.

The former Spice Girl released two solo albums to date, managing to notch up five UK top 20 hits between 1998 and 2001 – including the Number One smash I Want You Back, featuring rapper Missy Elliot.

Speaking to Attitude about her musical highlights of the year, the X Factor judge revealed that she’s trying to find songs to record that are a “good representation” of her.

“Well I’ve actually been in and out of the studio myself, but I haven’t managed to get that song that I want to get out there as a good representation for what I want to be doing,” she said. “But, I mean, there’s been lots of breakthroughs in music this year…Beyonce releasing her songs and videos that no one even knew about. How could she have kept that a secret, I have no idea!”

“Also Lady Gaga teaming up with that old geezer, what’s his name….Tony Bennett! I mean, who would have thought of that collaboration,” she added.
