Briefs: Benedict Cumberbatch On Sherlock Fanfic, “Go-Go Boy Interrupted,” And Teasing The Culture Club Reunion

Birthday shoutouts go to Usher (above), who is 36, Natalie Maines is 40, Isaac Mizrahi is 53, Sir Cliff Richard is 74, and Roger Moore is 87.

Under conservative assault, Vatican backtracks on gay comments (warning – autoplay vid)

Benedict Cumberbatch talks to Out about The Imitation Game and Sherlock/Watson fanfic: “It’s always, like, one of them is tired, one comes back from work, the other is horny, a lump appears in his trousers, and then they’re at it,” he says. “It’s usually me getting it — I’m biting Watson’s dog tags.”

In ratings news, Gotham was down 4%, which wasn’t bad (is it just me, or was last night’s show especially brutal?) and the premiere of Jane The Virgin did well enough for The CW

Here’s Episode Two of Go Go Boy Interrupted. I haven’t seen Episode One, but I may have to check it out. This one made me laugh more than once.

Here’s the trailer for Season Three of Old Dogs & New Tricks, which premieres on Nov. 12th.

Legend Carol Burnett appeared on Watch What Happens Live last night, and Wacha Cohen had something to say about her Tarzan yell.

And here’s the aftershow with Carol, on the development of Mama’s Family and measuring her earlobe

Here’s the Kickstarter for Wonderkid, which “tells the story of a young gay professional footballer searching for acceptance in a hyper-masculine environment.”

Here are teasers for the upcoming Culture Club reunion album. Every time I hear the recent Boy George, it startles me.

And here’s The Weekly ShoutOUT™. Each week we’re going to focus on one out athlete/performer and feature a daily pic and career timeline. We’ll be showcasing the big names, but also the lesser-known gay celebs who deserve more recognition. This week we give a ShoutOUT™ to … David DeCoteau.

David’s greatest film (and perhaps not coincidentally, his first non-horror/sexploitation movie) was 1997′s Leather Jacket Story, about the love affair between a twink and a god. Seriously, Christopher Bradley ruined my VCR with all of the pausing, slow-rewind, slow-forward, and zoom.

We covered the 90′s once before, so let’s try it again … with the 100 Greatest Top Ten Hits By 90′s Female Artists. There are only two rules: They all hit the Billboard Pop Top Ten, and they’re all from solo female artists or groups with female lead vocalists. Sure, you’ll hear the expected “Justify My Love” and “My Heart Will Go On,” but you’ll also hear songs I’m sure you haven’t thought of since the 90′s.

Ay #89 is “Say You’ll Be There” by Spice Girls. Their reign was short-lived, but there was a moment when Scary, Sporty, Baby, Posh and Ginger were inescapable in pop culture. “Say You’ll Be There” was their second single, and their second biggest hit, peaking at #3 in June 1997.

Congrats to Nobody! No one guessed that yesterday’s Pixuzzle™ © ® was Three’s A Crowd. And don’t give me “That’s not a famous TV show.”

Here’s today’s Pixuzzle™ © ®. Here is a famous moment in TV history. Can you name it?
